In it to win it. Michael B. Jordan swept the NAACP Image Awards on Friday, February 5, taking home the hardware for Creed in every category the boxing drama was nominated for, save one.

Jordan, 28, even took home the Entertainer of the Year award for his turn as Apollo Creed’s son, opposite action flick veteran Sylvester Stallone.

I used to sneak into the Image Awards, and now I’m standing here as the entertainer of the year, which is mind-blowing,” he said upon accepting his win.

Creed also took home the awards for Best Director (Ryan Coogler), Best Supporting Actress (Phylicia Rashad) and Best Writing.

Jordan is not nominated for an Academy Award for his performance, though Stallone, 69, is up for Best Supporting Actor.

On Friday, awards show host Anthony Anderson kicked off the ceremony by joking about the ongoing #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

Later, his tone turned more serious as he addressed the audience.

“Hollywood needs to know that this is what diversity is supposed to look like,” he said.
