In an exclusive interview with the Frizell Clegg, a president with the Church of Scientology, ReelUrbanNews.com learned the church has maintained a presence in the city of Inglewood, California for the past seven years. “We thought that we would be a part of the growth and revitalization of the city.  The intention is to become more involved. As president of the Inglewood Church of Scientology, Clegg states that he’s called to serve in several capacities. “The president is pretty much the face of the organization. I’m an ordained minister so in some cases I’m also considered its pastor.” Frizell Clegg, President, Church of Scientology

Clegg admits that by having locations in South Central and Inglewood, the Church of Scientology is hoping to attract more people of color, namely Blacks. “In terms of attracting African Americans, definitely; the church has been around for 60 years and we would like to have more African Americans.  One of the intentions is to create a space down there where the African American population is. Most of the people who have joined the church of Scientology are not African American and for those of us who have gotten in we’re saying, where are the Blacks? This facility is actually set up in our community and it is catered toward our people.” Frizell Clegg, President, Church of Scientology
