THE 18TH ANNUAL AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN IN CINEMA FILM FESTIVAL TAKES OVER MANHATTAN MARCH 23-26, 2016 New York, New York………African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) Founder Terra Renee is proud to announce the 18th Annual African American Women In Cinema Festival will take place in Midtown, Harlem and the Chelsea sections of New York City from March 23-26, 2016.

The festival will open on March 23 at the Bread & Roses Gallery, 310 W. 43rd Street, with a VIP reception and the premiere of the spellbinding film “The Sin Seer,” starring Lisa Arrindell Anderson (Festival Honoree), Isaiah Washington, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. Produced by the evening’s Festival Honoree, Angela White, “The Sin Seer” is the story of a woman who is able to sense the sin in people. She uses the gift to help people and find the answers to unsolved cases. Emotion clouds this gift and she soon sees that the person closest to her is who she needs to use her powers to see most of all.

On March 24 the AAWICFF will move up to Image Nation Raw Space, 2301 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd in Harlem for an afternoon of film screenings which include the 7:00 PM showing of poignant documentary “Bound: Africans vs. African Americans” from talented director Peres Owino and produced by Isaiah Washington, followed by a Q&A.

The following day, on March 25, AAWICFF kicks off in the morning at 10:30 AMwith a breakfast panel hosted by Morgan Stanley. The day will also include short films and a round table discussion hosted by Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Office of Motion Picture and Television.

On March 26, 18th AAWIC Film Closing Event Presented in Association with New York Women In Film & Television, Women in the Arts & Media Coalition, celebrating S.W.A.N. DAY, (Support Women Artists Now Day). Sponsored by the School of Visual Arts This year’s 18th Annual African American Women In Cinema Film Festival Ambassador is Princess Filmz.
