Something For Sunday:

On Saturday, February 6, 2016, I had the opportunity to attend the 90th Birthday Celebrations of two distinguished family matriarchs, Louise Calhoun and Justine Howell-Early.  Through their love, knowledge and wisdom these ladies have touched the lives of their immediate family members while impacting the lives of numerous others across the City of Los Angeles and the nation.

“I had grand children there I had no idea I even had.” Mrs. Louise Calhoun

“If I could, I would preserve your life for ever.” Jackie Calhoun, Daughter

Both 90th Celebrations were overflowing with family, friends and love.

Mom, (Letter from the Early Daughters)

We salute you in the name of love, respect and awe. All that we are or hope to be we owe to you. Mere words are not adequate to express how much we truly love you.

As young girls we knew that you are the bank where we deposit all our hurts, worries and dreams. You have always accepted your tack as our mother cheerfully and with great determination.

Thank you for loving us even when we least deserved to be loved and consistently going to back to the drawing board in spite of the odds.IMG_3097

Thank you for teaching us that it is through grappling with challenges that life presents that we are given the opportunity to grow.

Thank you making sure that we understood the blessings we’ve had as well as preparing us for the blessings we will receive.

God gave to us one of his sweetest blessings when he gave us to you.

We thank God for you Mom! Your loving daughters, Mildred Marie & Marilyn Louise
