Coming from humble beginnings in Louisiana, Kathleen Taylor followed her Parents’ advice: go to College, get a degree, get a job, and do your best on the job. As a Magna Cume Laude graduate from Grambling University, she thrived in the field of Science in the areas of Scientific research, Public health, Alzheimer’s disease, and Science education programs.

She followed her parent’s advice to the letter. However in June 2009 nothing her parent’s taught her prepared Kathleen for being laid off by her employer. Tragically, two weeks after being laid off, her mother suddenly passed away.

Devastated by these events, Kathleen recalled her mother’s sage advice, “When life gives you a lemon, you make the best lemonade in the neighborhood.” With renewed determination and clarity, she followed her mother’s advice and completed an intensive Small business development Program at El Camino College in Torrance, CA.

In 2010, Kathleen launched a thriving Corporate Training firm, Business Inquiry Solutions located in Torrance, CA. As the firm’s Founder and President, she diligently works to fulfill its’ mission to provide Corporate Training services for organizations and corporations to maximize Team-building, Leadership skills, Management development, and Communication to enhance Personnel performance and interaction in the workplace.

Kathleen’s inspiration to succeed in business originates from her father, a retired business owner, who stressed the importance of strong character and integrity “When you work for someone and especially when you work for yourself.” Her favorite quote, spoken by John Wooden, exemplifies her Father’s sage advice, “Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.”

When faced with the devastation of being laid off and losing her mother, just weeks apart, Kathleen said, “the experience was a true test of my character in the face of adversity.” Today, she is the proud owner of her consulting firm, Business Inquiry Solutions (www.businessinquirysolutions.com) and recently launched another company in the Voice over industry, Cadence VO Services, to provide professional and engaging voice overs for radio and television commercials, narration, audiobooks and training videos (www.cadencevoservices.com).

Kathleen’s journey from being a laid off to the President of the company, twice over, is an example of how anyone can make “the best lemonade from the lemon that life gives you” by using strong character and integrity in the face of adversity.
