Our Michael Reel spoke in-depth with honorees, celebrities and Varnell Johnson, President of the Living Legends Foundation who shared his perspective. “It’s our job as a black organization to perpetuate Black Music. The scope of Black Music is so large. When you say Black Music, people think of R&B. But Black Music incorporates the scope of Gospel, Jazz and Hip Hop. You name it! We don’t follow we set trends from clothing to music, worldwide. If you notice they imitate our music and culture all over the world. Everybody likes music.”

The original purpose of The Living Legends Foundation was to recognize and honor legendary music and radio industry figures that have distinguished themselves by their contributions as trailblazers, trendsetter, teachers and/or mentors.
