As the nation’s youth return to elementary and middle schools ReelUrbanNews.com conducted an exclusive interview with Larry Humphreys, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 13 years of experience working with students and individuals challenged with Autism.  “Autism is a neurological disorder that affects that brain. Typically you have kids and individuals diagnosed with Autism having impairment in social skills and communicational skills. We see that 1 in every 91 child is diagnosed with Autism.” Larry Humphreys, Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Humphreys, shares with ReelUrbanNews.com that not only is having Autism difficult for the child or individual but it is equally as challenging for the parent. “Just being a parent alone is challenging but to have a kid with Autism can add a little bit more challenge to that. I think the challenge comes from the lack of knowledge and a lack of understanding.  Parents don’t know how to engage with their kid. The more parents are involved and the more parents have knowledge how to care for the kid with Autism statistics have shown those individuals have had more success in life. Larry Humphreys, Board Certified Behavior Analyst
