I betcha you will know about THIS woman by time this weekend has come and gone: Insert name of the next female to sit on the Supreme Court

Hypocrisy is mainstay in politics, but there are certain situations that score off the hypocrisy charts. Self-proclaimed feminists are one of the worst. The ones who garner all the attention, and especially the ones who demand the spotlight, are the Crowned arbitrators of which women deserve their Royal Honours (that is not a misspelling!) and which women deserve their disdain.

It’s not hard to figure out their crude and intra-sexist standard, so all the more their cries and signs regarding “equal work, equal pay” and “my body, my choice” are anachronistic and…ironic. These women say they believe female representation is of the utmost importance in all ranks of life (except motherhood). They say women can do anything a man can do (why is a man the standard?). They say sexism is the cause for all the tears and fears of women who look up at the glass ceiling and the bright lights (personal responsibility be damned). They say, say, say….but, their actions are lacking. They only support the kind of woman THEY deem worthy. Are they any different than the men they have in their crosshairs who supposedly are sexist? #equalityrealized

Setting gender aside (which is my personal stance) and using only knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and merit as a measure, what would be the outcome? People love the idea of an egalitarian society, but living in theory is so much easier than…reality. Everyone wants to be equal until they want to be treated special.

I’m not crazy about President Trump announcing he will nominate a woman, but I certainly understand why he’s couching it this way. It’s all the rage these days- sex and color supersede merit, but only if you’re the right kind (wink, wink, nod, nod). Let’s see how this nominee is treated. RBG would be so proud.
