Changing Our Narrative

This is one of the hardest things I have ever written. My wife and daughters literally saved my LIFE. I have never told anyone but my wife this. I can remember the day like yesterday I lost my best friend, my other half, my knight in shining armor. March 15, 2017 in Lake Jackson, Texas, God called my loving mother home to be with Him. That was the day I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. But as I walked out of the room down the hallway to get some fresh air because I could not breathe and everything felt like a dream, I looked out of the window and in the clouds there was my mom saying, “Son, Momma ran her race. Now it’s time to run yours.

“Brandi, Aubrey and Ava need you just like you’re going to need them, son. So giving up right now, son, because I am gone, it’s not the answer. Listen, I live on in your two little amazing butterflies God has blessed you with, Aubrey and Ava. Aubrey and Ava will be show you ME every day you wake up and see them. Let them be your strength.

Let Brandi be your strength, son, that’s why you married her, right, because she reminds you of me. The most caring, selfless, strong, smart, and kind soul you have ever met. You said she was like me, the way she constantly puts others before herself no matter how ridiculous the request.”

So to my family, I continue to run this race because you guys saved my life. I love you, I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had. Every day we are together is the greatest day of my life.

Thank you for saving my Life.
